Wilderness Innovation was conceived back in the early 80’s. At that time the primary focus was on preparing Boy Scout troops for winter camping, and winter survival. We taught them how the body functions in the cold, how to avoid hypothermia, and even how to make their own safe clothing suitable for living in conditions well below zero. We began supplying many survival items as well as a variety of camping supplies not only to scouts, but to 
many others also.
Over the years things have evolved with Perry (me) spending 20 years on the East coast, in the Carolinas. There I learned about dealing with heat, humidity, hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, and torrential rains. Recently I moved back to Utah within just a few minutes of the Wasatch Mountain Range with peaks up to 12,000 feet in elevation. Its a great place for anyone who loves the outdoors. I soon found myself involved again in developing products for all those who frequent the remote wilderness places.
During my whole life I have been interested in survival skills and in assembling survival items to put together in various kits. After much study and trial and testing we came up with a couple of nice survival kits and a various other survival supplies. The focus has been to have high quality products at a realistic price.
We also began during this last year providing wilderness training and survival preparedness to both live audiences and on our own YouTube channel. Things have been evolving rapidly as we have worked on refining our educational offerings, and finalizing and testing our own line of products.
It soon became evident that to effectively achieve our mission we had to become much more integrated into electronic media. Fortunately Beau Graves made himself available and has joined the team, helping us to rapidly move forward, it doesn’t hurt that he loves wilderness and survival, which brings on additional excitement to the work we do.
